Crisp Day And Tender Memory by Carol

My friend went apple on a beautiful early fall day. The sun was shining, there was a light but crisp breeze blowing, the leaves were changing colors and, in the middle of the orchard, the smell of apple was in the air … in all ways it was a perfect day. He discovered different apple types in each row, appreciating and remarking on the various skin colors and shapes.

Then in a bit of unexpected frustration he realized that all the nicest apples were at the top of the tree? Realizing the top of the tree gets the most sunlight and while up there, has the best chance of growing, shaping and ripening. To reach the apples, he used the ladders the owners had provided.

After he carried over one of the rickety, old, wooden ladders to the tree that had the nicest apples, he set the ladder up as far into the tree as the branches would allow and steadied it to climb. All of a sudden he became enthralled at the top of the ladder. Up at the top of the ladder and tree, he could see forever, or it seemed like it anyway. He could see the rest of the orchard, hills over yonder with the sun shining on them.

Fall is that special time of the year, where everything just seems like a renewed chance to refresh our lives. 

I love your text. I went myself at picking apple with the Wellington Center. It was a beautiful day and, like you, Fall is a special season for me. The colors in the trees, the fresh air. When I was a little girl, it was my favorite season. All those colored and crispy leaves under my feet alleviated the pain in my hart when my mother was sick. i STILL ENJOY THAT SEASON.!
